Getting Started

Cazy Quiz is an AI-powered quiz builder designed specifically for Shopify stores. It helps you create interactive product recommendation quizzes that guide customers to the right products, boost engagement, and increase conversions.

Installation

1. Find Cazy Quiz on the Shopify App Store and click Install.
2. Approve the required permissions for your store.
3. You'll be taken to the Cazy Quiz dashboard where you can start creating quizzes immediately.

Dashboard Overview

The dashboard shows all your quizzes at a glance. From here you can:

• Create new quizzes (from scratch, from a template, or with AI)
• Edit, duplicate, or delete existing quizzes
• See quiz status (Draft or Published)
• View quick stats like total responses

Creating Quizzes

There are three ways to create a quiz:

1. Start from Scratch

Click "Create Quiz" and choose "Blank Quiz". You'll get an empty quiz editor where you can add questions, answers, and configure everything manually. Best for when you have a specific quiz design in mind.

2. Use a Template

Choose from pre-built templates designed for common use cases:

• Skincare Routine Finder - Help customers find the right skincare products
• Hair Care Assessment - Guide customers to hair products matching their needs
• Fashion Style Quiz - Match customers with their fashion preferences
• Gift Finder - Help shoppers find the perfect gift
• Fitness Product Matcher - Recommend fitness products based on goals

Templates come pre-loaded with questions and can be fully customized.

3. Generate with AI

Let AI create a complete quiz for you. Just describe what you sell and what you want to learn about your customers. See the AI Quiz Generation section for details.

AI Quiz Generation

Cazy Quiz includes a powerful AI assistant that can create entire quizzes from a simple description.

How to Use AI Generation

1. Click "Create with AI" from the dashboard.
2. Describe your store, products, and what you want the quiz to accomplish.
3. The AI will generate a complete quiz with questions, answer options, and scoring logic.
4. Review and edit the generated quiz to fine-tune it for your needs.

AI Chat Editing

After creating a quiz (manually or with AI), you can use the AI Chat feature in the quiz editor to make changes using natural language. For example:

• "Add a question about skin sensitivity"
• "Change the tone to be more fun and casual"
• "Add an answer option for oily skin type"
• "Rewrite the first question to be shorter"

Question Types

Cazy Quiz supports several question types to create engaging quizzes:

Single Choice

Customers select one answer from a list. Best for straightforward questions like "What's your skin type?" or "What's your budget range?"

Multiple Choice

Customers can select multiple answers. Great for questions like "Which concerns do you have?" where multiple options may apply.

Image Choice

Each answer option includes an image. Perfect for visual products like fashion, home decor, or color preferences. Customers click on the image that best matches their preference.

Text Input

Customers type a free-form response. Use for collecting specific information like names, preferences, or detailed feedback.

Info Screen

Display information without requiring a response. Use for welcome screens, instructions, or transitions between sections of your quiz.

Question Settings

Each question can be configured with:

• Required/Optional - Choose if customers must answer before proceeding
• Description - Add helper text below the question
• Background Image - Set a custom background for individual questions
• Auto-advance - Automatically move to the next question after selection

Product Recommendations

The recommendation engine is the core of Cazy Quiz. It determines which products to show customers based on their quiz answers.

Recommendation Methods

Tag-Based Matching

Assign tags to each answer option. When a customer selects an answer, those tags accumulate. Products are matched based on how many tags they share with the customer's accumulated tags. This is the most flexible and commonly used method.

Score-Based Matching

Assign a numerical score to each answer. Products are recommended based on the customer's total score falling within defined ranges. Great for assessment-style quizzes.

Collection-Based

Link answers directly to Shopify product collections. When a customer selects an answer, products from the mapped collection are recommended.

Direct Product Mapping

Map specific products to individual answers. This gives you the most control over exactly which products appear for each combination of answers.

Product Selection

Use the built-in product picker to search and select products from your Shopify store. You can also select entire collections. The quiz will display product images, titles, prices, and add-to-cart buttons on the results page.

Design Customization

Make your quiz match your brand perfectly with extensive customization options.

Global Design Settings

• Primary Color - Your brand color used for buttons, progress bars, and accents
• Background Color - Quiz background color
• Text Color - Main text color throughout the quiz
• Font Family - Choose from popular web fonts or use your store's font
• Button Style - Rounded, square, or pill-shaped buttons
• Background Image - Set a global background image for the entire quiz

Layout Options

• Fullscreen - Quiz takes over the entire viewport
• Embedded - Quiz sits within your page content
• Popup/Modal - Quiz appears as a floating overlay

Progress Indicator

Choose how customers see their progress:

• Progress Bar - A visual bar showing completion percentage
• Step Counter - Shows "Question 3 of 8"
• None - Hide progress indicator entirely

Per-Question Customization

Each question can have its own background image, allowing you to create visually rich quizzes with different imagery for each step.

Conditional Logic

Create dynamic quiz flows that adapt based on customer answers.

How Logic Rules Work

Logic rules let you skip, show, or jump to specific questions based on what a customer selects. For example:

• If a customer says they have "Oily skin", skip the moisturizer questions and go directly to oil-control questions.
• If budget is "Under $50", only show affordable product recommendations.
• If they select "Gift for someone else", show additional questions about the recipient.

Setting Up Logic Rules

1. Open the quiz editor and navigate to the Logic tab.
2. Click "Add Rule".
3. Select the source question and the answer that triggers the rule.
4. Choose the action: Jump to a specific question or skip to the end.
5. Select the target question to jump to.

Results Page

The results page is what customers see after completing the quiz. It displays personalized product recommendations.

Results Page Elements

• Heading & Description - Custom title and message for the results
• Product Cards - Recommended products with images, titles, prices, and "Add to Cart" buttons
• Score Display - Optionally show the customer's quiz score or category
• Call-to-Action - Custom button to redirect customers (e.g., to a collection page or checkout)

Add to Cart

Customers can add recommended products directly to their Shopify cart from the results page without leaving the quiz. This creates a seamless shopping experience that maximizes conversions.

Email Collection

Grow your email list by collecting customer emails during the quiz.

How It Works

1. Enable email collection in your quiz settings.
2. Choose when to show the email form: before results, after a specific question, or at the end.
3. Customers see an opt-in form where they can enter their email.
4. Email collection is always opt-in with a consent checkbox for GDPR compliance.

What Happens with Collected Emails

• Emails are stored securely with the quiz session data.
• Customers can optionally be created as Shopify customers, enabling you to use Shopify's built-in email marketing or connect to your preferred email platform.
• View collected emails in the quiz responses dashboard.

Publishing Your Quiz

Once your quiz is ready, there are multiple ways to add it to your Shopify store.

Theme App Extension (Recommended)

The easiest way to add quizzes to your store. No code required.

Section Block

1. Go to your Shopify theme editor (Online Store > Themes > Customize).
2. Navigate to the page where you want the quiz.
3. Click "Add section" or "Add block".
4. Find "Cazy Quiz Block" under Apps.
5. Enter your Quiz ID (found in the quiz editor).
6. Save and publish.

App Embed (Popup/Floating Button)

1. Go to your Shopify theme editor.
2. Click "App embeds" in the left sidebar.
3. Toggle on "Cazy Quiz Embed".
4. Configure the Quiz ID, trigger type (button or auto-popup), and button position.
5. Save and publish.

Direct Link

Every published quiz has a direct URL that you can share anywhere - in emails, social media, or link it from any page on your site.

Quiz Status

• Draft - Quiz is only visible to you in the editor. Not accessible to customers.
• Published - Quiz is live and accessible to customers. Toggle this in the quiz editor.

Analytics & Insights

Track how your quizzes perform with built-in analytics.

Key Metrics

• Views - How many times the quiz was loaded
• Starts - How many customers began the quiz
• Completions - How many finished the quiz
• Completion Rate - Percentage of starters who finished
• Add to Cart - How many added recommended products to cart
• Conversion Rate - Percentage of completions that resulted in add-to-cart

Response Data

View individual quiz responses to understand how customers are answering. You can see:

• Each customer's answers to every question
• Their accumulated tags and scores
• Which products were recommended
• Whether they added products to cart
• Email address (if collected)
• Timestamp and session duration

Analytics Dashboard

The analytics page provides an overview across all quizzes with date filtering, trend charts, and comparisons between quizzes.

Plans & Billing

Cazy Quiz offers flexible plans to fit stores of all sizes.

What Counts as a Response?

A response is counted when a customer completes a quiz (reaches the results page). Quiz views and partial completions do not count toward your limit.

What Happens When I Hit the Limit?

Your quiz will continue to work, but new completions won't be recorded. You can upgrade your plan at any time to increase your limit. The response count resets every 30 days.

Billing is handled entirely through Shopify. You can manage your subscription from the Billing page inside the app or from your Shopify admin.
